We are going to start up a new feature in the coming weeks which will showcase all of our competition teams and their players with some insight into their team from the coaching staff

The Magic 16 A team for this year is a newly formed team, we have players who last year played for Magic, Mayfield, Lake Macquarie City and Stockton.

We started to come together as a team in early November having a couple of voluntary sessions a week, getting to know each other and gelling as a team with training focusing on body position, first touch, how to receive and deliver the ball.

We had 2 early trial games one against Maitland 16NPL and one against Wallsend 15 NewFM. Both games the score did not go in our favour but as a coach I was very pleased in the way that we had performed not only as the 16 A but as a Magic squad with help from our 15 A.

Since early March our preseason like everyone else has been a very mixed batch due to mother nature playing a significant part in closing Myer Park. Depsite this the team has trained at Nobbies Beach, Howzat, and of late we have utilised our sponsors facility at F45 Training Mayfield where the experience of the guys there put the team through their paces on a few occasions

The players have adapted very well to playing out of their preferred playing positions in some instances and through bolstering our numbers with a few more players I am very confident that we have a squad of young men that will do themselves and the club proud this season.
